From the establishment of innovative research centers to the roll-out of the Research and Technology Innovation Blueprint, research at CPUT has come a long way since the establishment of the institution.
Since 2005, there has been an upward climb in all aspects of research and innovation output. The university has tripled the number of NRF-rated researchers, launched research chairs, secured millions of rand in research funding, and established innovative research groups.
Researchers at CPUT have penned new books, developed new products and services and have represented CPUT at conferences across the globe.
For the 2014 year, the university has submitted 181 units of research output to the Department of Higher Education and Technology.
