Be a CPUT brand ambassador

MEET AND GREET: Dr Nevhutalu and CPUT management welcomed new staff members during an induction workshop on the Bellville Campus

New staff members were encouraged to fly the CPUT flag and be a brand ambassador.

This call was made by Vice-Chancellor, Dr Prins Nevhutalu during a new staff members indication workshop hosted by the Department of Human Capital at the Bellville Campus.

Nevhutalu says the new staff members have joined the university at a critical time in the Higher Education Sector, however, assured them that they made the right decision to choose CPUT.

He says CPUT is developing in all areas and plans to embark on major infrastructural developments that will benefit teaching and learning.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Learning and Teaching, Prof Anthony Staak, discussed the units and centres that report to him, while Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation and Partnerships, Dr Chris Nhlapo, provided new staff members with some insights into the operations of the Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC).

CHEC is composed of all the universities in the Western Cape and promotes collaboration, co-operation and partnerships among member universities

Nhlapo said CHEC has a joint-Library Information System which allows for the sharing of expensive equipment between the universities, among other resources.

The new staffers were also treated to presentations from directors of strategic units and departments including Registrar Nikile Ntsababa.
