Performers shine at Namibian Cultural Festival

DANCE: CPUT performers shined at the recent Namibian Cultural Festival

The CPUT Performing Arts Society wowed audiences in Windhoek during the recent Namibian Cultural Festival with their scintillating performances of traditional dance, song and poetry.

Hosted by the Department of Student Services at the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST), the festival themed New Technologies, Same Traditional Values, aims to promote the respective traditional cultures of the invited countries.

The CPUT society represented not only the university but also South Africa, and showcased their talents among students from other African countries as well as overseas countries.

They also participated in the parade, which saw each represented country form part of a procession through the streets of Windhoek.

The society was well-received by audiences, and the Dean of Students at NUST congratulated them on their vibrant performance.

The weeklong festival featured sports, games and competitions as well as an International Cuisine Day.
