Clinic expands its footprint

CAREGIVERS: Campus Health Clinics offer a wide range of Primary Health Care and reproductive health services to students

CPUT Campus Health Clinics has expanded its footprint with the recent opening of clinics on the university’s satellite campuses.

Students on campuses such as Athlone, George and Worcester are now enjoying the services of fully-equipped and fully-stocked Campus Health Clinics. The Campus Health Clinics offer a wide range of primary health care and reproductive health services, as well emergency care services to students.

Satellite campuses previously relied on clinics on nearby main campuses.

Acting head of the Campus Health Clinics, Andries Slinger, says their services are well-received by the students.

“The demand for our services is huge,” says Slinger.

He says in conjunction with the HIV/Aids Unit they will host several health awareness campaigns on the various CPUT campuses.

*The Athlone clinic is headed by Sister Gail Benjamin, a highly qualified clinical nurse practitioner. For the interim period the clinic operates from 7:30am until 1pm. For  emergency care and advice students can call Slinger on 076 229 0298.
