CPUT has gone live with online applications enabling first time, returning and post-graduate applicants to do their applications online.
The project under leadership of the Registrar, Nikile Ntsababa, started in March 2016 as a collaborative exercise between seven universities sharing knowledge, expertise and cost.
Non-South African citizens, South African citizens with Non-South African Matric or Recognition for Prior Learning Applicants are not yet able to make use of the system.
The first phase of the project went live on 1 September 2016 and allowed only first time first year students to apply online.
Upcoming phases of the project will include International-, Recognition for Prior Learning, Residence Applications- and Short Course applications.
Phase 2 of the project was started in October 2016 as a collaborative exercise between CPUT, UJ, TUT and Fort Hare. The software was delivered on 9 May 2017 by AdaptIT, where after the Project Team started an intense process of System Testing, Business Acceptance Testing and Production Setup.
Business Acceptance Testing was conducted over a period of seven days by in excess of 50 staff members representing all departments involved in Student Application, Selection and Registration.
