The Tourism and Events Management Department recently held its annual BTech Conference where BTech students presented their research papers in front of lecturers and moderators. Exciting research topics presented on the day include the development of polo tourism as a niche market in the Western Cape, professional conference organisers’ perspectives on conferencing challenges in Cape Town, the perception of schools of Table Mountain National Park, employment patterns of CPUT Tourism and Event Management graduates, an analysis of the impact of water scarcity on 5-star hotel establishments in Cape Town and the extent to which an event in Cape Town can be used to create a positive social legacy
