Building team spirit

TEAM SPIRIT: Students participated in a tug of war during the MITS team building day.

The Department of Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences (MITS), recently hosted a teambuilding event to officially welcome first-year BSc students to CPUT.

The event, held at the pool house on the Bellville campus, formed part of the Department’s orientation process and staff members joined in the fun.

It gave first-year students the opportunity to meet their fellow senior students in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere.

“Our team building programme uses the concept of enhancing personal skills in a playful relaxed environment. Endurance and character building were tested through sack racing, problem solving skills were tested when they participated in a hula hoop climb challenge and their hand and eye coordination through a tin and ball challenge,” said Aladdin Speelman, Head of the Department.

Students also competed in a dancing competition and tested their mettle against each other in a tug of war.

Speelman said that due to the success of the event, it will now become an annual Departmental event.
