It was a week of fun and strong competition as student residences took each other through the paces on the fields of play during this year’s CPUT Mini-Olympics Tournament.
The annual tournament, which was held recently on the Bellville Campus, saw Viljoenhof Residence beat Athlone Residence in the netball final match to lift the trophy.
St Peters Residence narrowly edged Matthew Goniwe Residence in a breath-taking penalty shootout following a stalemate after regulation time.

GOAL: St Peters Residence left it late and relied on a sudden death penalty shootout to make it to the final which they subsequently won after another shootout.
This was not the only trophy St Peters won this year – they also walked away with the Easter Tournament. St Peters Residence has constantly managed to be a force to be reckoned with on the soccer pitch in the past couple of years as they have been regular finalists in all tournaments and winning some in the process.
