Facilitator:  Dr Dick Ng’ambi and Shihaam Donnelly, UCT

Date, time and venue: 12th of August 2010, 14.00-16.00,  Room 3.3 IT Centre Bellville Campus.

Workshop description:

Although use of podcasting is increasingly becoming popular in education, many educators are not fully exploiting the affordances of  podcasting for teaching and learning.

This workshop aims to demystify the concept of podcasting and to provide participants with basic skills to get started. The workshop will cover both the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to create and use podcasts for educational purposes.

It will be divided into two sections: the first section will cover the pedagogy underpinning podcasts  as well as provide the background to the technology and general uses.  The second section will provide participants with hands-on experience of creating, editing and publishing podcasts.
