The next HEQC audit will focus primarily on Student Success and Throughput and never was it more important than now to design interventions that improve these two important indicators for an institution’s success. There is need to look at a student experience in a holistic way, including factors that may have a negative effect on student throughput that are non-academic. To respond to these challenges the Center for eLearning is developing tools and technologies that allow you quick and easy access to the data needed to identify students at risk in your own courses, such as  expanding the Alert tool within the LMS.

If you are teaching a subject that has been identified as an At Risk Subject, then this workshop is very important for you.  This workshop will introduce technologies to identify students who have problems that may put them at risk of failure and allow you, the lecturer, to start immediate remedial activities to assist struggling students. Furthermore examples will be discussed of how lecturers at CPUT are using these tools to support their students.
