The Centre for Innovative Educational Technology is pleased to announce a call for abstracts/proposals for this year’s CPUT Teaching and Learning with Technology Day.
Date: Thursday, the 22nd of August 2019, 9.00-15.30
Location: SARETEC
Theme: Unpacking the 4th Industrial Revolution
Conference theme
The fourth industrial revolution is upon us and is set to radically transform the way we live and work. As we move towards a tech-driven economy, how do we prepare our students for the workplace of tomorrow? CPUT is going smart – what does this mean in practice? How do we prepare our students for a future that is unknown? What skills, what mindsets, what knowledge do they need to thrive in this space? How do we negotiate more and more diverse and unequal spaces? How do we engage with difference? How do we keep an African identity in a global world?
This day will be a jampacked experience of key notes speakers pushing boundaries in terms of where higher education institutions need to move towards, discipline-specific approaches to embrace the 4th Industrial Revolution and current practices by lecturers at CPUT as to how to prepare their students for an unknown future.
