Journalists from across the city recently gathered at the Design Garage for a media mingle organised by the Marketing and Communication Department (MCD).
More than 50 newshounds, mainly alumni, were in attendance and the function highlighted the success of CPUT’s Journalism Department.
The event was held on the eve of World Press Freedom Day.
The function not only served as a networking opportunity but was also an unofficial reunion for journalism alumni, many of whom hadn’t seen each other since they last studied together.
The event was addressed by MCD Director Dr Garth van Gensen and was also attended by academics from the Media Department.
Journalists also had the opportunity to view the creations of Design students, which were showcased as part of a First Thursdays event.
