HOME: The Sandenberg Residence boasts 292 beds

CPUT students will soon be moving into a new state of the art residence which has been built on the Cape Town Campus.

The Sandenberg Residence cost R58.6 million and boasts 292 beds, a computer centre, kitchens and communal study areas. The residence is composed of two floors in Block A and four floors in Block B.

Themba Hlasho, who heads up the residences at the Cape Town Campus, says the building was recently handed over to CPUT and the university is now awaiting its occupancy certificate.

“All requisitions to furnish the building have been submitted and students will be allowed to occupy it once all the furniture has been procured,” says Hlasho.
