Meet and Greet

If learners come to universities well prepared, then they will stand a better chance of succeeding, says Dr Prins Nevhutalu.

Addressing principals and life orientation educators at a networking event, the Vice-Chancellor said schools, together with universities, play a crucial role in the development of South Africa, by educating the future workforce.

The networking event was an initiative of the Marketing and Communication Department and was aimed at creating closer ties with CPUT’s feeder schools.

Nevhutalu said apart from developing learners, educators can encourage them to apply to study at CPUT.

“We can attract the best students, with your help,” he said.

With CPUT offering more than 70 programmes, Nevhutalu said the University is one of the best higher education institutions in South Africa. “We are committed to providing the best learning environments for our students.”

Faculty Deans also had the opportunity to interact with educators.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Prof Mzikayise Binza, encouraged educators to promote CPUT.

He said apart from exposure to highly qualified lecturers, all students have the opportunity to hone their skills in industry, through the university’s Work Integrated Learning programmes. “CPUT is the university that learners must opt for.”
