School shoes wanted

School-shoes-large

Our first social responsibility drive is up and running!

Up until the end of February we would like all staff members to contribute a pair of brand new school shoes (or two or three).

Remember, it’s for a really good cause.  We want to put shoes on the feet of learners who will one day end up studying at CPUT!

With stores running back to school campaigns, it’s easy to find a pair. And the choice is yours – we are looking for any size and make for boys and girls.

And if your budget’s a bit tight this month after the festive season, why not get together with a colleague or two and purchase a pair.

We will collect the shoes in February, so for now buy your pair and store it at home. We will send out an email to let you know exactly where you can drop off your contribution.

Come on CPUT, let’s show our communities that WE CARE!

Flash that badge

Be proudly CPUT and wear your 10th birthday badge!

As part of our 10th birthday celebrations we are calling on all staff to don the little blue birthday badge that was part of the surprise package.

A number of of staff members have already been spotted sporting the badge, including Executive Members and Directors.

So, don’t be left out and follow some of these easy tips on how to sport your badge this year.

Buttons

  • Pin it to your shirt or jacket
  • Dress up your birthday lunch box
  • Wear it on your hat
  • Pimp up your work bag

So there you go – whether you are sporting it on your clothing or your lunch box, whatever you do, flash that badge and be proudly CPUT!

Also, don’t forget to spread the word at home – stick your birthday magnet on your fridge.

“Operation calendar distribution” has been a huge success with thousands of calendars distributed across all the CPUT campuses.

It was no mean task – it took MCD staff members along with a group of student interns an entire week to package your birthday gift.

But the task was well worth it! We had an overwhelming response from the CPUT community. Staff members have been dropping us “thank you” mails while at the Cape Town collection point, some have showed off their singing talent and treated us with a “happy birthday” tune.

So a BIG THANKS to all staff for collecting their birthday parcels and for the awesome response! CPUT staff are really the best!

And with your calendar now firmly sitting on your desk,  please take a browse through it and check out the  awesome events we’ve lined up for our birthday year.

We’ve even added some helpful office tips to get you through the year along with some interesting facts on CPUT. For example, did you know that during the registration period, CPUT gets up to 2 300 calls a day!
