First year students were welcomed to CPUT with an array of exciting orientation programmes ranging from a trolley race to a scavenger hunt.
Orientation activities for Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences students included a flag design exercise and balloon popping games while welcome packs for first years were provided.
According to clinical instructor Charne Martin students were also taken on a tour of the Bellville campus while they were also addressed by representatives from the various support service units.
Orientation activities at the Wellington campus stretched over several days.
This included a street theatre programme, an “Amazing Race”, a trolley race and a braai.
Three welcoming ceremonies were held to welcome the more than 9 000 first-year students.
They were addressed by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr Chris Nhlapo, and introduced to the university’s executive management, members of senior management as well as SRC members.
