Giant boosts development team hopes with loan of mountain bike

The world’s leading brand of quality bicycles and gear, Giant, is throwing its weight behind CPUT’s development team in this year’s Absa Cape Epic.

They’ll be loaning one of their mountain bikes to Mteza Boya, who is riding with Seraj Abrahams for the CPUT PPS team.

“We’re proud and excited to be supporting Mteza, in partnership with university and the Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy. This premier mountain biking event requires a high level of discipline, motivation and application and we thought it was a great fit for Giant Bicycles.”

Mteza will be riding a Giant XTC Adv 29er as he prepares for the race, and should he perform really well and garner significant coverage for CPUT and Giant – at least enough to offset the cost of the bike – he’ll be allowed to keep the 17 thousand rand beauty.

Says Giant, “We are proud of our track record of supporting cyclists competing in Road, Triathlon and Mountain Biking events throughout South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Giant bikes win world championships. They win design awards, too. But most importantly, they win the hearts of riders who choose to make cycling a part of their lives. We look forward to Mteza’s Epic experience and wish him all the best with the Giant XTC Adv 29er.”
